Error-handling and support code across UNIX System III through System V, during the period UNIX became a commercial product. Contributed to UNIX System V Release 3. Worked directly with Dennis Ritchie, carrying out the detailed implementation he specified — including STREAMS and core commands such as ls and cp. The modular, recursive design habits from this work later became the foundation of the Fractl Theatre method.
